The project studies how diverse types of institutions across European democracies –including parliaments, executives, courts, climate advisory bodies, citizens’ assemblies & mobilisation by activists – are evolving and innovating to respond to the climate crisis.
RETOOL starts in February 2024 and run for 3 years. It is coordinated by Diarmuid Torney Dublin City University and brings together an international and interdisciplinary consortium including Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Università di Trento, Ghent University, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), University of Eastern Finland, HOLISTIC , DD Foundation and The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Annalisa Savaresi leads the work on courts and climate advisory bodies, working in partnership with colleagues at LSE and VUB.
The project grows out of our existing collaboration within the GreenDeal-NET Jean Monnet network.
