UEF MOOC – Measuring and Evaluating Social Impact
Social quality describes the key processes of well-being that produce well-being for people equally and sustainably.
This open and free online course:
- Introduces the framework for social quality and the key processes of social quality that can contribute to sustainable well-being.
- Presents a research-based social quality calculation tool and show how the tool can be used to assess the savings potential of various measures and policies that promote well-being.
- Goes through how the calculation tool can be used to support evidence-based decision-making.
Anyone interested in the online course and its content can complete it as MOOC course and receive an unofficial certificate from the University of Eastern Finland. If you want a completion mark and ECTS credits (5 ECTS), you must register as an Open University student at the University of Eastern Finland and pay the course fee (15 €/credit). For degree students, the course is free of charge.

On the DigiCampus website:
- MOOC students: If you want to complete the course as a MOOC and do not need official credits, you can start taking the course. You will receive an unofficial course certificate for the course upon completion of the course. You must first create your own username, password and provide your complete information. Once you have created an account, you can go directly to the course pages
- UEF students: before you start completing the course, please register for the course through Peppi. You can find the course key in Peppi’s implementation information
- Open University students: If you want a completion mark and ECTS credits (5 ECTS), you must register as an Open University student at the University of Eastern Finland and pay the course fee (75 €/credit). The Open University grants the right to study, after which the study attainment is entered in the Student Information System. After that, you can request an official transcript of records from the Open University. You will receive the course key in the course instructions/by email
