Call for abstracts 2024

Present your work at the Research Seminar on Effectiveness  

We are looking for 10-minute oral presentations and posters on topics related to effectiveness. Presentations can be based on ongoing or recent research. We welcome qualitative, quantitative, theoretical, and methodological approaches to effectiveness. Presentations related to experimental and intervention studies are also welcome. In addition, presentations on research and development projects can be proposed (NOTE: separate guidelines for abstracts). Proposals for full thematic sessions (including workshops) are also welcome. 

Assign your proposal to one of the following thematic sessions:  

  1. Effectiveness of care and health services  
  2. Implementation research  
  3. Methods and settings for effectiveness research  
  4. Evidence-based practice and recommendations  
  5. Effectiveness of decision-making and legislation  
  6. Social and economic sustainability 
  7. Effectiveness of social work and social services  
  8. Effectiveness in promoting well-being and health  
  9. Own session proposal 

Call for Abstracts   

  1. Research abstract: Abstracts of 300 words should include a description of the purpose of the research, the research questions/hypotheses, the data and methods, the results and (preliminary) conclusions of the research. The abstract can be submitted in either Finnish or English. When submitting an abstract, the language of the oral presentation will be requested. Where possible, we will organise sessions also in English. 
  2. Presentation of a practical research and/or development project: abstracts of up to 500 words should include a description of the issue/problem that the research/development project addresses. In addition, the abstract should describe the background to the issue/problem and the social, societal, public health, etc. relevance of the topic. The description of the issue/problem should be clear, including the timeframe, objectives and methods used for the research/development. The description should include the results of the exercise and (preliminary) conclusions. The abstract can be submitted in either Finnish or English. When submitting an abstract, the language of the oral presentation will be requested. Where possible, we will organise sessions also in English.
  3. When proposing own thematic session, an abstract should be submitted, describing the background and objectives of the session, the presentations, and the presenters. In addition, a separate abstract should be submitted by the presenter for each presentation in the session.
